Marking 38 years of celebrating acts of PEACE across Northumberland County, YMCA Northumberland is calling for nominations for its annual YMCA Peace Medal Awards.
The awards honour youth, and adults, both as individuals or groups, who embody selfless service and make a lasting difference at either home or abroad.
Peace Medal recipients will be recognized for promoting and inspiring the core values of PEACE: Participation, Empathy, Advocacy, Community, and Empowerment. Honourees will be celebrated at the Annual Peace Medal Breakfast on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre (930 Burnham St., Cobourg).
“Our Annual Peace Medal Awards are a way to let hope shine in our community through celebrating those who make a lasting impact in our world, both locally or globally, “says Eunice Kirkpatrick, CEO of YMCA Northumberland.
