Cobourg Police – Driver Charged After Pedestrian Struck in Parking Lot

A Cobourg driver faces a Highway Traffic Act charge after a vehicle struck a pedestrian in a parking lot.

On September 15, 2026, at approximately 7:00 pm., police responded to a business in the area of Elgin Street West for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian, who had been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. As a result of the investigation, the driver was charged with careless driving.
