Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Fail to Comply, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Name Released)

A Cobourg man is facing charges after violating release order conditions.

On September 15, 2026, at approximately 10:45 p.m., police on general patrol observed an individual on King Street East in violation of a court-ordered curfew.

The individual was arrested and, during a search incident to arrest, officers located and seized approximately 2.47 grams of suspected fentanyl and more than $2,900 in Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, Richard Watts (57) of Cobourg was charged with Fail to Comply with Release Order, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
