Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Comply
A 31-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a report of theft.
On August 18, 2026, at approximately 9:50 a.m., police responded to the area of Burke Street and Mathew Street in Cobourg following a report that contractor’s tools had been stolen from a property in the area. A video of the theft was provided to police, and officers searched the surrounding neighbourhood and located an individual carrying a tool bag and tools matching the description of the stolen property.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
Cobourg Woman Charged with Three Counts Fail to Comply
On August 18, 2026, at approximately 10:45 p.m., police on general patrol in the area of King Street and McGill Street in Cobourg observed an individual in breach of their probation order. Further, police were aware that the individual was arrested and released on an undertaking on August 5, 2026, for breaching this same condition.
As a result, a 37-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply with Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
