Cobourg Community Raises $11,195 for Wildfire Evacuees

In Local

At yesterday’s Northumberland County Council meeting, Mayor Lucas Cleveland announced the Town of Cobourg 10 for 10 Donation Campaign reached $10,500.

Further, the Town of Cobourg Finance Department just received an additional $695, bringing the grand total to $11,195.

Town staff have reached out directly to our colleagues at Whitesand First Nation to ensure these funds are directed to where they are most needed and can have the greatest impact. Mayor Cleveland plans to provide an update at the September Cobourg Council meeting.

About the 10 for 10 Campaign The Town of Cobourg 10 for 10 Donation Campaign was launched on July 23 to support the people of Armstrong and Whitesand First Nation, who were displaced from their homes after wildfires forced a mandatory evacuation this summer. The campaign was built around a simple idea: make 10 calls over 10 days and encourage 10 people to donate at least $10.
The Town of Cobourg extends its gratitude to everyone who shared and donated to the campaign.
