Cobourg Woman Charged with Possession of Suspected Fentanyl
A 42-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after police observed her in possession of suspected fentanyl while on patrol.
On July 21, 2026, at approximately 1:50 a.m., police on general patrol in the area of Queen Street and Church Street in Cobourg observed an individual in possession of a bag containing suspected fentanyl.
As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance and failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
Roseneath Man Charged with Facing List of Charges Including Impaired Operation
A 20-year-old Roseneath man is facing charges following a traffic stop.
On July 27, 2026, at approximately 4:50 p.m., officers conducting traffic enforcement in the area of King Street East and Brook Road North in Cobourg observed a vehicle without a front licence plate.
Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. During the interaction, officers observed signs of impairment and cannabis and related paraphernalia in plain view within the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
A search of the vehicle incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of several licence plates registered to other vehicles and individuals. As a result of the investigation, A 20-year-old Roseneath man was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates, Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, Fail to surrender insurance card, and have care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Three Individuals Charged in Connection with Theft Investigations
Police arrested three individuals on July 27, 2026, in connection with separate theft investigations.
While on general patrol, officers observed an individual known to be wanted in relation to a theft reported at a business in the area of Spring Street and King Street West in Cobourg on July 18, 2026. As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
In a second incident, officers arrested an individual wanted in connection with a theft investigation involving property stolen from a residence in July. In a third incident, officers responded to a theft report from a business in the area of Elgin Street West where property had been reported stolen. Following a review of surveillance footage, police identified a suspect and located the individual in the downtown area. As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
All three were released on an undertaking with future court dates.
