Port Hope Police – Bowmanville Man Charged After Pedestrian Struck (No Name Released)

On the morning of July 7, 2026, the Port Hope Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Madison Street and Mill Street South.

The investigation determined that a pedestrian was crossing the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle that was reversing.

(Today’s Northumberland has learned the nearest ambulance available was Marmora)

The pedestrian was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital for assessment and medical treatment.

As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old Bowmanville man has been charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

The Port Hope Police Service reminds all drivers to check their surroundings carefully before reversing and to remain alert for pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users at all times.
