Durham Regional Police Service Board Statement Regarding Cadet in Training Fatal Collision

The Durham Regional Police Service Board expresses its sincerest sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of the DRPS member who suffered fatal injuries in a motor vehicle collision while travelling today to the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario.

Along with all members of the DRPS family, we mourn this devastating loss with a profound sense of sorrow.

Our heartfelt thoughts are with the family of the second constable-in-training who sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.

We know that in this moment of tragedy, Chief Moreira, his leadership team, representatives of the Durham Regional Police Association and all DRPS members will unite to support one another with compassion, love, and respect.

To all police personnel, we extend our gratitude for your enduring and resilient service.
