The Town of Cobourg Fire Department would like to advise the public of a joint-agency water rescue training exercise taking place on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from approximately 9 to 11 a.m.

The exercise will include two simultaneous rescue scenarios on Lake Ontario. Two mannequins will be rescued from the water during this training, which will involve a small Coast Guard boat and a shore-based water rescue around the Coast Guard Station.

Staff from the Cobourg Fire Department, Cobourg Police Service, OPP, Coast Guard, and EMS will be involved. The training will help identify efficiencies in emergency communications.

The Cobourg Police Service will be using a drone during the training. Members of the public will see signage indicating that training is in progress.
