Belleville Police – Belleville Man Charged in Stabbing (Name Released)

On June 16 at 5:26 a.m., Belleville Police responded to an apartment complex on Sidney Street regarding a weapons call. It was reported that a male had been stabbed at his residence.

Upon arrival, police located the male victim, who was suffering from stab-related injuries. He reported that an individual had entered his residence through the bedroom window and stabbed him with a knife while he was asleep.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

During the investigation, officers learned that earlier that night, police had received a call from another male reporting that his keys had been stolen by the same individual who was later found injured.

Officers were initially unable to locate the suspect. However, shortly thereafter, police located the suspect walking on Sidney Street. He was arrested at gunpoint without incident.

As a result, Mitchel Daley-Brown, 31-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

· Aggravated assault

· Break and enter – with intent to commit indictable offence

He was held for a bail hearing.
