Video – Dredging Continues in Cobourg Harbour

In Local

Annual dredging operations in Cobourg Harbour are currently underway (June 11, 2026), running through mid-June, to maintain safe navigation for the Coast Guard and recreational boaters. The town utilizes its own Marie Dressler dredge to vacuum sand, temporarily deposit it on the beach.

Town staff say early spring water levels generally provide enough depth for boat traffic, but dredging during May and June is important to maintain safe and navigable conditions as water levels begin to decline later in the season.

If required, additional dredging work will resume in the fall.
