Quinte West OPP – Two Motorists Charged with Impaired (Names Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in 2 more impaired driving investigations.

On Friday, April 17, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on Riverside Parkway, where an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized, resulting in the arrest of a driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Hayden SHORTS, ag e 29, from Stirling, was charged with the following offence:

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a traffic complaint resulted in officers conducting a traffic stop on 2nd Dug Hill Road, Trenton. An investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver.

Scott SNOW, age 44, from Kingston was charged with the following offence:

Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a later date. Additionally, the vehicles they were operating were impounded for seven days, and their licences suspended for 90 days.
