Belleville Police – Incidents Include Warrants, Threats to School

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 101 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on March 12, 2026 to 5:00 am on March 13, 2026.

Warrants
On March 12th at 7:37pm, Belleville Police responded to a business for a report of unwanted persons. It was reported that a male and female were on the property and refusing to leave. Upon investigation, it was learned that both parties had outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrants for failing to comply with probation orders.

As a result:

Katie Cuffe, 39-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address was arrested on the strength of the warrant and released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in May.
A 43-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

Threats
On March 12th at 9:34am, Belleville Police responded to a public elementary school regarding information that a threat to commit violence at the school had been posted on social media.

As a result of investigation, a 12-year-old female whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with uttering threats. She was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in May.

Police believe that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
