Durham Regional Police – Replica Firearm Found at Highschool Basketball Game

Police are searching for at least two suspects after a firearm was located following a fight at the Durham College Athletic Complex during a high-school basketball game in Oshawa.

On Monday, March 2, 2026, at approximately 8:20 p.m., paid-duty members working at a high-school basketball finals game responded to a fight in the lobby of the Durham College Athletic Complex. Officers attempted to intervene; however, two males fled the area. A firearm was located on the ground after the altercation. The firearm was later confirmed to be an imitation handgun.

No injuries have been reported to police.

Police believe this is an isolated incident.
