Cobourg Police – Threat Investigation at Local Elementary School

The Cobourg Police Service confirms there is no threat to public safety following an investigation into alleged threats referencing a firearm at a local elementary school.

Earlier this evening, at approximately 6:35 p.m. the Cobourg Police Service initiated an investigation after receiving reports from concerned residents regarding a student allegedly making a threat involving a firearm at a local elementary school earlier today.

Police immediately contacted school officials and conducted a thorough investigation. Based on the information gathered to this point, no threat was identified, and allegations involving a firearm were determined to be false or misleading.

The Cobourg Police Service continues to work closely with school administrators and community partners to ensure the continued safety and well-being of students, staff, and the broader community.
