Ontario Welcomes $141 Million Investment in Brampton from Coca-Cola Canada Bottling

Expansion will support good-paying jobs and strengthen Ontario’s manufacturing supply chain

The Ontario government is welcoming a $141 million investment from Coca-Cola Canada Bottling Ltd. (Coke Canada Bottling) to renovate and expand its flagship manufacturing, distribution and sales centre located in Brampton. The expansion will introduce a new state-of-the-art production line, capable of producing at least 20 million additional cases annually, creating up to 500 good-paying jobs during construction and reinforcing the province’s position as a leader in beverage manufacturing and agri-food production.

“I’m thrilled to welcome this historic investment from Coca-Cola Canada Bottling, which is another vote of confidence in Ontario’s world-class workers,” said Premier Doug Ford. “Our government will continue to protect our workers and support new investments by cutting taxes and red tape so that we create the most competitive, resilient and self-reliant economy in the G7.”

The Brampton expansion, which will be built exclusively by Canadian tradespeople and have at least 75 per cent of materials sourced domestically, will be one of the most technologically advanced production lines in the country, helping to increase production capacity and packaging capabilities and enabling the company to bring innovations to market faster. The project follows an $8 million investment by Coke Canada Bottling in its Hamilton distribution centre last year.

“As one of the largest food and beverage manufacturing jurisdictions in North America, Ontario offers unparalleled access to the talent, resources and business conditions needed to support long-term growth,” said Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. “We are thrilled that Coke Canada Bottling has chosen to build on their long-standing legacy in Ontario and look forward to seeing this latest investment advance the strength and resilience of the province’s manufacturing supply chains.”

Coke Canada Bottling has invested more than $230 million in its Brampton manufacturing and distribution operations since becoming an independent, family-owned business over seven years ago. The Brampton facility is home to more than 1,300 employees who service more than 7,000 local customers from Kitchener to Oshawa. Beverages made there are distributed across the province and throughout eastern Canada.

“As a proud Canadian business, we are committed to investing to grow in Brampton, Ontario, and across the country for the long term,” said Todd Parsons, Chief Executive Officer of Coke Canada Bottling. “Thanks to the incredible hard work and dedication of our Coke Canada Bottling team, we’re very pleased to bring this leading-edge technology to our Brampton facility that will see us tap into digital enhancements to increase the flexibility of our manufacturing capabilities, enabling us to be more agile as we grow and find new ways to serve our customers, ultimately providing Canadians with the beverages they love.”

As part of the Ontario government’s efforts to build the strongest, most resilient and competitive economy in the G7, the province is cutting taxes and red tape, saving businesses $12 billion a year. Ontario has attracted over $213 billion in investment since 2018 and created one million new jobs.
