The Cobourg Fire Department would like to inform the public of scheduled firefighter activity at the Cobourg Harbour on Saturday, February 14, 2026, for ice water rescue training.

The Cobourg Fire Department conducts ice water rescue training annually, usually between January and March depending on ice conditions. The training is to hone the firefighters’ skills for winter emergencies.

Utilizing immersion suits, rescue boats and other equipment, firefighters practice techniques for rescuing individuals who have fallen through the ice using cold-water rescue protocols.
