No Serious Injuries Following Multi-Vehicle Collision East of Trenton on Highway 401

Emergency services have been dealing with numerous collisions throughout the area on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Collisions have been reported throughout the Highway 401 corridor stretching from the Municipality of Port Hope to Quinte West Region.

At this point it’s believed there are no serious injuries.

There was a multi-vehicle collision involving a number of vehicles including two transports between Trenton and Belleville in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401.

Both transports burst into flames.

There were no serious injuries, but a number of people were taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.

As a result there were several other multi-vehicle collisions.

Highway 401 eastbound is closed east of Trenton until further notice.

The total number of vehicles involved in all collision were approximately 30-40.

There are no serious injuries.
