Durham Police – Male Arrested Following Firearm Investigation in Bowmanville (Name Released)

A male is facing several firearm charges after an investigation by the Gun and Gang Unit in Bowmanville.
On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, members of the DRPS Gun and Gang Unit (GGU) completed a firearm investigation and executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Green Road and Baseline Road.
A search of the residence located a handgun, three prohibited overcapacity magazines, ammunition, and drugs.

Nicholas Alexander RILEY, age 28 from Bowmanville is charged with: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, Possess Prohibited/Restricted Device x3, Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine), Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (percocet), Possession Contrary to Order, Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2, and Fail to Comply with Release Order x3.

At the time of his arrest, the suspect was bound by probation and release orders.

He was held for a bail hearing.
