By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland

The Town of Cobourg announces intermittent downtown lane, sidewalk and street closures for Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 19 and 20, to permit a geotechnical investigation to proceed.

On King Street West, between George and Second – the stretch immediately in front of Victoria Hall, there will be short-duration intermittent single-lane closures. Flag persons will be present to keep the traffic flow going.

During this time, the Henley Arcade walkway will be closed to pedestrian traffic.

As well, sidewalks on the north side of King Street West at the Henley arcade walkway, as well as on the north side of Albert street between First and Second streets will have short-duration closures.

The announcement says that access to King Street’s retail stores will be maintained, and conveys the town’s thanks to residents and visitors for their understanding as the work is completed.
