Video – Repair Work Continues in Port Hope After a Water Main Break Closes Walton Street Bridge

In Local

Repair work continues on the east end of Walton Street in Port Hope after a water main broke on December 28, 2025.

The water main was fixed, but the deluge of water eroded an area underneath the Walton Street bridge over the Ganaraska River.

Walton Street in the area of the bridge has been closed since the water main break with traffic being re-routed on Queen Street to the west and Mill Street to the east.

If the weather cooperates, it’s expected the repairs will be completed by the latest Friday, January 9, 2026.
