City of Kawartha Lakes Police – Suspect Charged After Stabbing (Name Released)

On December 28th, 2025 at approximately 7:55am the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to the area of Wellington Street and William Street North in Lindsay, for a report of a male covered in blood.

Investigation revealed that the male had been stabbed multiple times. Police provided medical assistance until Kawartha Lakes Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to Ross Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Criminal Investigations Branch attended and further investigation identified a possible scene at an address on Colborne Street west in Lindsay. A search warrant was executed, and the accused was taken into custody without incident.

42-year-old Peter Misanchuk of Lindsay has been charged with:

· Assault with a weapon
· Assault causing bodily harm
· Fail to Comply with Probation X 2
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
