CopShop Returns to Belleville for the 10th Annual Year

In Local, Police Blotter

The holidays are arriving early for a group of local children as the Quinte Mall, the Belleville Police Service, and The Children’s Foundation come together once again for one of the community’s most cherished traditions. Now in its 10th year, CopShop returns to Belleville to brighten the season and celebrate the true spirit of giving.

This year’s event pairs twelve local children with members of the Belleville Police Service who volunteer their time to act as each child’s personal holiday shopper. The day offers connection and a little Christmas magic. Each participating child receives a Quinte Mall gift card, warm winter essentials, and gifts generously provided by Quinte Mall retailers and local businesses.

CopShop is about far more than gifts. It is an opportunity to support families and surround children with kindness during a time of year that can be challenging. The program also helps build positive, lasting relationships between youth and local police, creating meaningful connections that continue well beyond the holiday season.

“The generosity shown through this event reflects the best of Belleville,” says Deputy Chief Sheri Meeks.

“Every year, our members volunteer their time to help make the holidays brighter for local children, and the generosity we see is a welcome reminder that Belleville is a special place to live and a community we are fortunate to serve.”

“As a community, we have the power to make children feel seen, valued, and supported,” says Ingrid Moore, Executive Director of The Children’s Foundation. “CopShop is a beautiful example of what happens when caring partners come together to make a difference.”

“CopShop is our favourite day of the year,” says Jessica Khouri, Marketing Manager at Quinte Mall.

“We’re proud to host this event, and it’s a privilege to help create a magical experience for these children.

Supporting families, lifting spirits, and seeing the joy this day brings is at the heart of what community means to us at Quinte Mall.”
