Northumberland OPP – One Person Charged After Stolen Vehicle Recovered (Name Released)

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

On October 31, 2025, at approximately 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen passenger vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401 from Bowmanville.

The driver failed to stop for multiple OPP cruisers and exited the highway before coming to a stop on County Road 30 in the Municipality of Brighton, where officers safely took the individual into custody.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) on October 29, 2025.

As a result of the investigation, Toir BIKZAD (30), of Scarborough, has been charged with the following offences:

– Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000

– Possess proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

– Dangerous operation – three counts

– Flight from peace officer – two counts

– Failure to comply with release order – four counts

The accused was held for bail to to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
