Port Hope Police – Driver Charged with Stunt Driving (No Name Released)

In Police Blotter

On October 27, 2025, officers from the Port Hope Police Service conducted a targeted traffic safety initiative along County Road 28, focusing on speed enforcement and driver compliance.

During the initiative, officers observed a vehicle travelling at 107 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. The driver was stopped and charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with Stunt Driving. As a result:

  • The vehicle was impounded for 14 days
  • The driver’s license was suspended for 30 days
  • An additional Provincial Offences Act (POA) ticket was issued for operating a vehicle without a currently validated permit

This enforcement action underscores the Port Hope Police Service’s commitment to public safety and education, particularly in areas where excessive speed poses a serious risk to the community.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about traffic laws, promote responsible driving, and support community partnerships aimed at reducing collisions and injuries on local roads.

Residents are reminded to obey posted speed limits and ensure their vehicle documentation is current. These efforts align with our broader public education campaigns, ongoing investigations, and community engagement initiatives.
