Three days after Today’s Northumberland released information and nearly two weeks after it happened, Cobourg Police have issued a press release of two thefts of lottery tickets from two gas stations in Cobourg.

Police state, on September 4, 2025, police responded to a report of theft from a gas station on Division Street. At approximately 5:20 p.m., a man entered the store and while an employee turned their back, the man stole approximately 124 lottery tickets.

Police also state a similar theft occurred at a second gas station on Division Street, where approximately three lottery tickets were stolen. The suspect was seen arriving and departing the area in a navy-blue Dodge Caravan but they didn’t say the time or date of the theft.

Police are investigating whether these incidents are connected to similar incidents in other jurisdictions. The investigation is ongoing, and police are looking to identify the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca.
