Back-To-Back Losses for Port Hope Panthers to Open PJHL Season

The Trent Hills Thunder scored three unanswered goals in the third period to defeat the Port Hope Panthers 3-2 in Provincial Junior C Hockey League action Sunday in Campbellford.

After a scoreless first period, the Panthers had a two-goal advantage heading out of the second. Christian Sokoljuk and Spencer Eriksson each had a goal and assist while Ryerson Minifie assisted on both goals.

Brody Brooks cut the Trent Hills deficit to one in the third before teammate Matthew Hinan tallied the tying and winning goals. Ryan Sherwin and Kieren Ellis each had two assists.

The Panthers were coming off a 7-0 loss to the Napanee Raiders in their home opener Saturday night at the Jack Burger Sports Complex in Port Hope.
