City of Belleville Ratifies Agreement with BPFFA Local 497

Belleville City Council has ratified a new four-year collective agreement with Belleville Professional Fire Fighters Association (BPFFA) Local 497.

This agreement reflects the shared commitment of both parties to supporting the important work of Belleville firefighters while ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality emergency services to the community.

Wage enhancements:

· Jan. 1, 2024 – 4.3 per cent increase

· Jan. 1, 2025 – 3 per cent increase

· Jan. 1, 2026 – 3.2 per cent increase

· Jan. 1, 2027 – 3.5 per cent increase

Significant to this round of bargaining, the Corporation and the Association focused on health and wellness with benefit enhancements including the introduction of cancer screening and improved mental health coverage.

The agreement will remain in effect for four years providing stability for both the City and its firefighters as they continue to work together in service to the community.
