
Two Cobourg residents have been arrested as a result of a drug search warrant executed in Cobourg on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, members of the Cobourg Police Service (CPS) Criminal Investigations Bureau, with the assistance of the Belleville Police Emergency Response Unit (ERU), Belleville Police K9, CPS uniform officers, and Special Constables, executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant at a residence near Division Street and Swayne Street.
Upon entering the residence, police located and arrested two adults. Two children were located inside the home. Police also located drugs and weapons that were plainly visible and readily accessible to the children.
A subsequent search of the residence resulted in police locating and seizing a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), stolen property, and weapons.
As a result, a 36-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both from Cobourg, were jointly charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance-fentanyl
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance-cocaine
- Possession of a schedule 3 substance- psilocybin
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Fail to provide necessaries of life
The male also faces three (3) additional charges of Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order. Both accused were held for a bail hearing later today. The names of the accused are being withheld to protect the identities of the children.
