City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Motorcycle Driver Charged with Impaired (Name Released)

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after being alerted to a possible impaired driver in Coboconk on a motorcycle.

On Monday July 14, 2025 at approximately 1:37 pm officers were notified of a possible impaired driver that were operating a motorcycle believed to be impaired with a passenger. Officers entered into an impaired driving investigation and the driver was arrested an d charged with impaired driving related charges.

David Mackey, 46-year-old of Coboconk, was charged with:

Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motorcycle was impounded for 7 days.
