
Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving as a result of a R.I.D.E. check.
On July 6, 2025, just prior to 2:00am, Peterborough County OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on County Road 2 in the township of Asphodel-Norwood. Officers observed a vehicle approach the R.I.D.E. checkpoint and spoke with the driver.
After a brief conversation, officers determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and then later transported to an OPP detachment for further testing where they provided samples of their breath.
Erica ESPOSITO (age 35) of Hastings, ON., was arrested and charged with;
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 5, 2025.
