Enjoy the return of the annual Canada Day Parade and fireworks
The Town of Cobourg is pleased to once again host Canada Day celebrations on Tuesday, July 1, and invites everyone to join in the fun.
Canada Day Parade
The annual Canada Day Parade will take place on Tuesday, July 1 at 11 a.m., departing from King Street/William Street (Cobourg Public Library), travelling east on King Street to Victoria Park. Find a spot to watch along the route on King Street.
Community groups, local businesses, marching bands, and other organizations are encouraged to register a float, vehicle, or walking entry in the parade. Registration is free, fill out the form at Cobourg.ca/CanadaParade2025 by Friday, June 27.
Entertainment
Join the Cobourg Town Council, The Concert Band of Cobourg and Emcee York Bell Smith for the Opening Canada Day Ceremonies in Victoria Park at 12:30 p.m.
Spend the day at Victoria Park with Canada Day entertainment at the Bandshell from 1 to 10 p.m. There will be multicultural dancing and music in Rotary Harbourfront Park around the pond from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Free Shuttles
Take advantage of parking for free at the Northumberland Mall or Cobourg Community Centre and ride a free shuttle bus to the festivities.
Shuttle busses will run on a 30-minute rotation on Saturday, June 28, Sunday, June 29 and Monday, June 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Canada Day, shuttles will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The shuttle stops include:
• Northumberland Mall Bus Shelter
• Cobourg Community Centre Bus Stop
• Downtown Terminal East of Church Street
• Cobourg Marina
Fireworks
Enjoy the annual fireworks display over the harbour at 10 p.m. sharp on July 1.
Admission to all areas is free, and everyone is welcome.
Road Closures
• Saturday, June 21 to Wednesday, July 2: The Esplanade
• Thursday, June 26 to Wednesday, July 2: Division Street South of Charles Street
• Friday, June 27 to Wednesday, July 2: Charles Street
• Saturday, June 28 to Wednesday, July 2:
o Division Street at Albert Street
o Queen Street at Church Street
o Queen Street at Division Street
o McGill Street
• Tuesday, July 1, only: King Street from William Street to D’Arcy Street will be closed starting at 7 a.m. until the Canada Day Parade is complete. Please note there is no parking overnight on King Street from Monday, June 30 to Tuesday, July 1. Cars remaining on King Street along the parade route on July 1 will be ticketed and towed.
Parking Lot Closures
• Albert Street parking lot: Closed Wednesday, June 25 through Wednesday, July 2
• Marina parking lot: Closed (except for boaters) from Friday, June 27 through Wednesday, July 2
