Video – Cobourg Parks Department Brightens Downtown for the Summer

In Local

Parks Department staff spend Friday evening downtown Cobourg with floral arrangements.

On Friday, June 13, 2025 approximate 10 staff members put up 300 flower baskets along King Street and surrounding sidestreets.

Horticulturalist Rick Cromlish said traditionally staff install them after midnight, but it was decided to give it a try early in the evening this year.

Along King Street there are 24 inch baskets and along the boardwalk area there are 20 inch baskets.

“We try to do a lot of bright colours down here to make it pop-out.”

While some crews were installing the baskets others were following water the plants.
