Upcoming Belleville Alerts Test Notification

In Local

Belleville Fire and Emergency Services will be conducting a test notification of the Belleville Alerts emergency notification system on Wednesday, June 18 sometime between 1 and 2 p.m.

This test notification will be sent only to those who have registered for Belleville Alerts. Users will receive an automated phone call and/or text message that is marked as a test, indicating that no action is required.

In the event of a real emergency during the time of the scheduled alert, the notification will state that it is not a test and emergency messaging will be posted to the City’s website and social media channels. Those unsure of the validity of a notification are encouraged to check these channels and/or local media for confirmation and further details.

Those who have not yet registered for Belleville Alerts are encouraged to do so online at Belleville.ca/Alerts or in-person at City Hall ( 169 Front St.) or Fire Station 1 (60 Bettes St.) during regular business hours. Belleville Alerts provides users with important emergency information on events such as major fires, significant weather events, shelter-in-place orders and more, via an automated phone call or text message to their electronic device.

For more information, contact alertsbelleville@belleville.ca or 613-967-3200 ext. 3029.
