Belleville Police – Incidents Include Stolen Vehicle, Breach,

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 122 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 20, 2025 to 5:00 am on May 21, 2025.

Stolen vehicle returned to parking lot
On the 19th of May at 3:30pm, Belleville Police were called to a business on North Front St regarding a stolen 2017 Toyota Rav4, purple in colour.

During their investigation, police observed the vehicle last travelling north on Cannifton Rd shortly after being stolen.

On the 20th of May at 11:35am, the owner of the vehicle advised police that his vehicle had been located in the same parking lot where it was stolen from.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the theft.

 

Breach of Probation
On the 20th of May at 9:53am, an officer was on patrol in the city’s downtown core when they observed a female known to them who was bound by probation conditions prohibiting her from being in the city’s downtown.

After confirming the conditions were still in effect, the officer arrested the 29-year-old female of no fixed address without incident.

She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Police investigation leads to breach of probation and take motor vehicle without consent charges
On the 20th of May, members of the Belleville Police Criminal Investigation Division assisted by Uniform Patrol began an investigation into a 39-year-old Belleville man breaching conditions of his probation.

The conditions were as a result of domestic violence charges.

Upon the conclusion of the investigation, police arrested and charged the man with five counts of breaching his probation and one count of taking his former partner’s vehicle without her consent.

Police noted in their investigation that this is the third time the man has been arrested and charged with breaching his condition against his former partner since December 2024.

The man was held in custody for a bail hearing.
