Peterborough County OPP – Kinburn Driver Charged with Impaired (Name Released)

Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with impaired driving after receiving a call regarding a single vehicle collision.

On May 8, 2025, just after 10:30pm, Peterborough County OPP Officers were dispatched to a report of a collision that took place on Highway 28 in North Kawartha Township. Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the driver. After a brief conversation, a demand was read to the driver to submit to an Approved Screening Device (ASD) test. The driver complied with the demand and provided a sample of their breath resulting in a reading of ‘FAIL’ at which point the driver was arrested.

Patrick SAVARD (age 29) of Kinburn, ON., was arrested and charged with;

· Operation while impaired

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on June 10, 2025
