Northumberland OPP – Driver Charged After Single Vehicle Collision (Name Released)

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge driver after vehicle collision on Wednesday April 30, 2025.

At approximately 1:00 pm, Northumberland County Paramedics, Cramahe Township Fire Department, and the OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on County Road 21 near Walker Road. When emergency services arrived on scene a vehicle was found in the ditch on the south side of the roadway on its roof.

The vehicle had hit a tree and caught on fire. The two occupants of the vehicle were located and transported to a nearby hospital with relatively minor injuries.

The driver Samantha MCQUE (age 31) of Campbellford Ontario, was arrested and has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences.

– Dangerous operation causing bodily harm

– Obstruct peace officer

– Operation while prohibited

– Fail to stop after accident.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on June 11, 2025.
