Video – Opening of Trout Season Brings In a Number of Anglers from Ontario and Quebec

The opening weekend for trout fishing in the area brought a lot of visitors to the area.

At 12.01 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 lines were put in the water in various locations throughout the area.

There were a number of anglers from Ontario and also Quebec that were in area waterways including the Ganaraska River in Port Hope on Saturday and Sunday at Sylvan Glen Conservation Area.

Ministry of Natural Resources Officers were also in the area making sure people are enjoying themselves and following all regulations.
