Wakely Advances with Barrie Colts in OHL Playoffs

Port Hope’s Dalyn Wakely and the Barrie Colts have advanced to the Ontario Hockey League’s Eastern Conference final.

Wakely had three assists for the Colts Tuesday night in Barrie to eliminate the Kingston Frontenacs with a 6-4 victory in Game 7 of the second-round series that saw the home team win every game.

The Frontenacs lineup included Cobourg’s Ethan Miedema.

After recording two goals and 10 assists in five games against the Niagara Ice Dogs, Wakely tallied four goals and added five assists in the seven games against Kingston and sits tied for third in OHL playoff scoring.

Wakely will continue playing road games close to home as Barrie will take on the Oshawa Generals in the East final.
