Supporting Local Businesses
The Town of Cobourg has a long history of working with international production companies. Council recognizes filming is an excellent source of revenue with very little resource costs. Each production provides primary sources of revenue to the Town through facility rentals, parking and filming permits. Secondary benefits to the economy are large as the productions use local resources, businesses, and supplies.
Reunion MA Production Inc. is working to maximize Canadian involvement and the economic benefit to our community. Their visit will include:
• Approximately 200 Canadian paid background actors
• A community casting call will be issued, inviting local citizens to participate as unpaid walk-ons during a planned parade scene
• Around 150 Canadian crew members, including:
o Food service teams
o Directors
o Minor cast members
• All hotel accommodations are being booked locally
• The production team intends to support local businesses, including restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops throughout their stay.
