Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Charged with Obstruct Peace Officer, x3 Assault Peace Officer, Uttering Threats (No Name Released)

An 18-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested for obstruct and assault police after police responded to a
disturbance.
On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the North end of Cobourg.

Upon arrival, police learned that a couple had been involved in a verbal dispute; a woman involved appeared to be intoxicated.

After departing the residence, the woman returned and was displaying signs of intoxication to be attempting to re-engage her partner in another dispute.

An officer intervened to prevent a breach of the peace, at which time the woman punched the officer in the chest.

During her arrest and subsequent time in custody, the woman continued to be combative and threaten officers.

As a result, the 18-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with Obstruct Peace Officer, three counts of Assault Peace Officer, and two counts of Uttering Threats.

The accused was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing.
