City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Serious Collision Closes Highway 7

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have closed Highway 7 for a serious collision involving three vehicles, east of Lindsay.

On April 14, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m., members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP, with assistance from Kawartha Lakes Fire and EMS, responded to a report of a serious multi-vehicle collision on Highway 7, between Slanted Road and River Road.

The driver, a 21-year-old male from Peterborough was airlifted to a To ronto area Trauma Center where their injuries were reported as life threatening. The other drivers, a 74-year-old male from Fenelon Falls and a 59-year-old male from Cameron, were transported to a local area hospital.

The highway was closed for several hours while the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team processed the scene. The road has since been reopened.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has video/dash cam footage and has not yet spoken with the police is encouraged to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
