Belleville Police – Incidents Include Assault, Sexual Assault, Damaged Vehicles

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 107 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 7, 2025 to 5:00 am on April 8, 2025.

Incident leads to assault and sexual assault charges
On the 7th of April at 6:59pm, police received a call regarding a domestic dispute which had just occurred at a residence in the city’s west end.

Upon arrival, police spoke to the female involved.

The male party had departed the residence prior to police arrival.

During their investigation, police learned that an ex-partner had entered the residence, physically assaulted and then sexually assaulted the female.

There were no reported physical injuries.

Police continued their investigation and located the male at a residence in the city’s east end a short time later.

The male was arrested without incident.

The 38-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault and sexual assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

Assault and damaged vehicles
On the 7th of April at 9:30pm, a male was sitting in his vehicle while parked in the car park on Cannifton Rd just south of the 401 when he observed two males wearing camouflage clothing and balaclavas exit the nearby wooded area on foot and begin to slash the tires on a nearby unoccupied vehicle.

The man exited his vehicle to confront the males who were brandishing knives.

One of the suspects punched the witness in the face which required medical attention.

The suspects then began throwing rocks at his vehicle.

Both suspects then fled into the woods.
