Robbery Suspect Sought
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are asking for the public’s help after a robbery at a Peterborough business early Sunday morning.
At approximately 3:30am on April 6, 2025, officers were called to the business at Denure Drive and Sherbrooke Street after a man entered the store brandished a small knife and left with a tray of lottery tickets. Officers searched the area to the south of the store and located the tray with some of the tickets and returned them to the business. The mask the suspect wore was also located; however, the suspect was not located. No one was injured in the incident.
The suspect is described as (image for assistance):
- White male
- Approximately 50 years old
- 5’6; medium build
- Dressed in a black sweater with a piece of green tape on the left chest, a dark coloured toque with a dust style filter mask over his face, dark pants and grey boots with a green piece of tape on the left toe area

Stunt Driving
A 23-year-old driver is facing a stunt driving charge after a traffic stop in Peterborough Friday evening.
At approximately 11:45pm on April 4, 2025, an officer was on general patrol in the area of Clonsilla Avenue and Webber Avenue. A vehicle was spotted travelling at a high rate of speed and was recorded going 107 in a 50km/h zone.
As a result, the driver was charge with:
- Stunt in excess of 40km/hr
- Speeding 107km/h in a 50km/h
The driver was issued a 30-day license suspension and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
Impaired Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 2:00am on April 5, 2025, officers on general patrol spotted a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at George Street and Townsend Street, cross both lanes of traffic, jump the curb and strike a tree. The vehicle then attempted to leave the scene before being blocked by the police vehicle and another vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle and while speaking with the driver noticed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court May 13, 2025.
Theft Under Arrest
A 58-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant has been arrested and is now facing another charge.
At approximately 2:00pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025, officers were called to a business in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street area about a theft. Upon arrival, they learned that a man was spotted hiding items under his coat and leaving the store without attempting to pay. Officers were able to identify the suspect, attended his residence and took him into custody.
As a result, a 58-year-old Peterborough was arrested on the strength of the warrant and facing a new charge:
- Theft Under $5000
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on April 6, 2025.
