In Police Blotter

Officers from the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual after receiving a trespass call.

On April 5, 2025, at approximately 4:00pm, officers from the Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding individuals trespassing at the Cordova Dam located on Fire Route 18. The report stated that there were three individuals at the location and a hole had been cut in the chain-link fence. The report also stated that a tent had been set up and that the three individuals were drinking at the location.

Officers arrived on scene confirming what had been relayed to them and also noted a boat at the shoreline. The individuals were advised that they were currently trespassing and although there were posted signs, one person advised they thought it was crown land.

During the interaction with the parties, it was determined that one of them was currently on a release order with conditions for them to not be within 100 metres of one of the others. As a result, an arrest was made.

Wolfgang WRIGHT (age 23) from Pickering, ON., was arrested and charged with;

· Failure to comply with Undertaking

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on May 6, 2025.
