Special Cobourg Council Meeting Called

The Town of Cobourg Legislative Services Division would like to inform all residents that a Special Meeting of Council will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Pursuant to section 5.6 of the Town of Cobourg Procedural By-law, the meeting will take place following the 1 p.m. Corporate Finance, and Legislative Standing Committee meeting.

The meeting is being held to consider the following items:

• Presentation from John Mascarin, Integrity Commissioner regarding Council Code of Conduct and Municipal Conflict of Interest Act (MCIA) Review and Refresher

• Report No. LS-2025-010 from Town Clerk/Director of Legislative Services regarding Cobourg Municipal Council Code of Conduct and Complaint Protocol Update and Staff Council Relations Policy

• In accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001, Council will meet in Closed Session regarding a trade secret or scientific, technical, commercial, financial or labour relations information, supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board, which, if disclosed, could reasonably be expected to prejudice significantly the competitive position or interfere significantly with the contractual or other
negotiations of a person, group of persons, or organization (s. 239 (2) (i)).

This Special Council Meeting will be held using a hybrid meeting model. Members of Council and Municipal Staff will have the choice to participate in-person in Council Chambers or to participate virtually via electronic participation.
