Update – Cobourg Man Charged Following Train Collision (No Name Released)

Cobourg man charged under Highway Traffic Act after police called to a rail crossing Thursday morning.

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle being struck by a train travelling westbound at the D’Arcy Street rail crossing in Cobourg. The single occupant of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.

As a result of the police investigation, a 46-year-old Cobourg man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for driving motor vehicle with no permit and failing to stop at railway crossing signal.
