Cobourg Man Charged with Theft

A 53-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges in a theft investigation.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a local business where an
unknown male had attended the day prior and selected numerous items within the store before leaving, making no attempt to pay. Police reviewed the store’s CCTV footage and identified the suspect.

On Friday, March 21, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., police were on patrol in downtown Cobourg when they observed the suspect.

As a result, a 53 –year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5,000. The accused was released on an Undertaking with a court date of April 30, 2025.

 

Cobourg Man Charged with Domestic Assault, Breach of Probation
A 42-year-old Cobourg man is facing domestic assault charges after a witness reported to police.

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, a resident attended the Cobourg Police Station to report that they observed an assault. The resident provided a description of the suspect.

As a result of the police investigation, a 42-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with domestic assault, breach of probation, and two counts of breach of recognizance to keep the peace. The accused was held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody.
