Cobourg Man Charged with Uttering Threats, Fail To Comply with Probation x4
A 33-year-old Cobourg man faces charges after police responded to a local business on Thursday.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, at approximately 2:40 p.m., police responded to a downtown business for a report of an unwanted person. When the man was asked to leave by staff, he threatened to kill the staff
member.

As a result of the police investigation, the 33-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation.

The accused was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing.

 

Cobourg Woman Charged with Theft of Vehicle
A 42-year-old Cobourg woman has been arrested in a vehicle theft investigation.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, police took a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Sutherland
Crescent. A person of interest was identified with the public’s assistance, and the vehicle was recovered.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, a 42-year-old Cobourg woman turned herself in to police. She was arrested and charged with Motor Vehicle Theft and being in Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

The accused was later released by way of an undertaking with conditions.

 

Cobourg Man Charged with Theft
A 68-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges for involvement in three thefts from a local business.

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, police attended a shoplifting call at a business on Elgin Street West in the Town of Cobourg.

Staff confronted a man after he was observed exiting the store without paying for merchandise.

Through investigation, officers determined that the man was also responsible for two separate thefts at the same location on March 14, 2025.

As a result, a 68-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with three counts of Theft Under $5,000 and three counts of being in Possession of Property obtained by Crime.

The accused was later released on an undertaking with Conditions and a future court date.

 

Cobourg Woman Charged with Failure to Comply
A 26-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after failing to comply with probation.

On Friday, March 14, 2025, police responded to a disturbance downtown. Upon arrival, police located two individuals who had engaged in a dispute.

Through investigation, police learned that one of the individuals was currently bound by conditions prohibiting them from communicating with the other involved individual.

As a result, a 26-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with the release order and failing to comply with probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

 

Mississauga Man Charged with Possession of Prohibited Weapon
A 39-year-old Mississauga is facing charges after police responded to a suspicious person call Saturday night.

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, police responded to a suspicious person’s call at a William Street business in Cobourg.

Upon arrival, police located a male wanted on the strength of an outstanding warrant with another
police service.

Upon arrest, the man was found to have a small quantity of Schedule I substances and a
prohibited knife.

As a result, a 39-year-old Mississauga man was charged with Possession of a Schedule I
substance and Possession of a prohibited weapon.

The man was subsequently released through Undertaking with a future court date.

 

Madoc Man Charged Two Counts Failure to Comply
A 43-year-old Madoc man faces charges after failing to comply with release conditions.

On Sunday, March 16, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., police responded to a west-end residence after
receiving a report that a male was breaching the conditions of his release by attending the home.

Through investigation, it was determined that the male had been released from custody by way of

Undertaking with conditions in another jurisdiction earlier in the day. The 43-year-old Madoc man was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
