Quinte West OPP – Transport Driver Charged Under HTA After Snow Plow Struck

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a motorist after a collision involving a snow plow.

On Sunday February 24, 2025, just after 9:00 a.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a collision on westbound Highway 401 in which a tractor trailer struck an operating snow plow. There were no injuries.

The transport driver, a 52-year-old resident of Orangeville has been charged with follow to closely – under the Highway Traffic Act.

The OPP would like to remind all motorists to use caution driving near snowplows and be patient in inclement weather.
